Everything Is Just Peachy

Hey Everyone!

Today I have an outfit of the day for you, possibly one of my favourites yet in terms of the actual clothing featured. I've had this dress a while, I bought it back when Simply Be had Sprinkle of Glitter do the lookbook video that I fell crazy in love with and pretty much bought every entire look featured.  I do have a habit of doing that every once in a while, I'll see an entire collection and obsess over it and just buy the whole thing *cough Cut for Evans*.

Anyway, my ridiculous spending habits aside, today I am showing you my latest "go to" dress. You know when you have that one dress that instantly makes you feel confident when you put it on, you know it looks good and it flatters you and it just shows on your face and you can't stop smiling. Well my previous "go to" dress was this one:

But this gorgeous peach number has overtaken it!
Where do I begin on reasons I love it so much?

The colour is just so flattering for me for a start, it matches my makeup and complexion perfectly.

It's the perfect length, neither too long or too short, it nips you in at the waist but then flares out with a netted skirt built in to give you volume.

And isn't the lace just so delicate and pretty with the detailing to the hemline.

I paired my outfit with this lovely bag from Marisota

and baby pink pumps from New Look

and a little heart necklace from a car boot sale (I do love a bargain!)

It looks perfect on the cute sweetheart neckline with mesh detail.

I think I've made it quite obvious how much I am in love with this dress, come night or day it is a total winner for me and I totally recommend trying one on yourself and having a twirl in front of the mirror.

What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments and I'd also love to see links to your current "go to" dresses. Let's share some love for some great clothes!

OOTD - Park Edition

Hey Everyone!

Yesterday I went for a little afternoon trip to Verulamium Park in St Albans which is one of my favourite places to go to just relax, sit on a bench and read a book. I took along my camera to get some autumn themed pictures and ended up with some impromptu outfit of the day shots I thought I would share, Enjoy!

Coat - New Look Inspire Link to similar!
Cardigan - Primark
Skirt - Primark
Tights - ASOS Curve Link!
Shoes - New Look Link!
Bag - Marisota Link!
Glasses - Armani

I love the delicate pearl detailing on the cardigan, it really adds to the classic/girly look I wanted and makes a cheap Primark cardigan look much higher end.

In this shot you can see my old ombred ends coming through again, I kind of like it.

I liked this shot because you can see the reflection of the trees in each of the quilted diamonds. I fell in love with this bag immediately when I saw it at the Marisota event, it just looks so luxurious and the design is very similar to this Dior bag don't you think?

I hope you enjoyed this post, I had a great time at the park and can't wait to get some more Autumn looks up for you guys.

Weekend Outfit of the Day ft Marisota

Ava By Mark Heyes Lace Trim Jersey Tunic

Hey Everyone!

Today I want to show you how I wore my Marisota jersey tunic when I took it bootsailing at the weekend.

My first comment would be that I sized up a couple of sizes and it wasn't "baggy" on me which might be something to consider, especially if you carry weight up top. As my shape is completely different to the model above the tunic did end up being a slightly long jumper as opposed to a tunic/dress, but it's still long enough to get away with wearing over leggings. It is slightly longer at the back with a dipped hem and skims over your bum so no need to worry about the see through legging look.

I wore it with a pair of Sainsburys leggings, a primark vest top underneath and plain black Fred Perry shoes.

The tunic is a really nice fine knit and quite lightweight so definitely one for autumn and then into winter maybe under a coat. It also has a cute black lace stripe down the middle which breaks up the grey and the main fabric looks like a grey marl/tweed print.

So yeah, basically I really like this top and it's absolutely something I will continue to wear at the weekends over leggings. If you want to check it out yourself or look at the rest of the Ava range by Mark Heyes for Marisota here is the link: Ava by Mark Heyes.

Marisota Ava by Mark Heyes Event

Last Wednesday I attended a fabulous dinner event put on by Marisota to showcase the new AVA collection by celebrity stylist Mark Heyes (Yes he is the one on Lorraine!).

After work I headed to Covent Garden to the gorgeous Kettners, I got there far too early and nervously hung around outside for a while waiting for Vicky over at The Curved Opinion who I'd been speaking to on Twitter. I thought I saw her go in so I darted after this woman but turns out it was someone else! At this point though I was inside and being directed upstairs to the event so it was too late to try and retreat.

I made a beeline for the ladies to powder my nose/ de-oil my face from the sweaty mess that is the London Underground.  In there I got talking to a couple of women (sorry I can't remember your names) who had won a competition to attend the event and I think they were as nervous as me but totally excited. This was reassuring.

After a few stern words with myself ie "pull it together woman and get out there" I broke free from the shackles of the ladies and embarked upon the beginning of my Marisota adventure.

This began at a small clothes filled room with a photographer on hand where you could play dress-up to your hearts content. I bumped into Betty over at www.bigfatbetty.com who I started talking to, forgetting she has no idea who I am. I would later on also fianlly meet Vicky from www.thecurvedopinion.com and Hanna from thewardrobechallenge.co.uk/ who were really nice.

Even at a first glance I could see some pieces that really stood out, being the pink coat and a gorgeous knit tunic (link to outfit post here). You can check out the full collection here and Marisota give you 10% off your first order which applies automatically to your basket.

Here are some pictures of me goofing around in front of the camera for your amusement.

I couldn't resist grabbing Hanna for a quick photo!

We then went into the dining room where I was sat opposite the lovely Linda over at High St Style, Jenny from SCPR and next to Lauren from Woman's Own. The other psbloggers were up at the other end so this gave me a bit more of an opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone and the ladies were so lovely I needn't have been so anxious.

Mark then told us about his vision for the collection and the process of picking out the range and sharing his enthusiasm for the famous pink coat, which is machine washable!

We then had a delicious 3 course dinner

I chose the Charcuterie Platter

The rack of lamb

and finally the Chocolate Marquise which was heaven!

After dinner we then went back to the Aladdin's cave of clothes and accessories and chose out a couple of pieces to take away with us. I couldn't resist the lure of the pink coat, especially after we all donned one (including Mark!!) for one of my favourite pictures below:

We also received a goody bag as we left which contained a Jo Malone gift set and look books with the full clothing ranges to flick through with DVDs to watch! I didn't look at these until I got home and was a nice surprise in the morning.

To finish off the post, this is a picture of me at around midnight after I'd just got home, I never want to forget how I was feeling when this photo was taken. I was so tired, yet so buzzed about how good the night was. I've never been to a proper event before and it was such a big deal to me, that someone had gone out of their way to invite me along because of stuff I have written. It made me feel really good and I literally cannot thank everyone enough that made that event as amazing as it was.
