A Highland Fling

Hey Everyone! I hope you're all having a fabulous weekend.

Today I am back with another outfit of the day, it's a mix of two of my favourite trends this autumn/winter being the military khaki shirt dress and the ever popular tartan scarf. These aren't two trends I would typically put together but I think it works really well and the scarf worn as an accent to the dress makes it nice and snug.

Scarf: Primark
Black Vest Top: Primark
Leggings: TU at Sainsburys
Boots: Primark
Clutch: Primark

I have to say I love how my hair looks at the moment, it's got crazily long and I've been using all the fancy hair products I've been reviewing so it's in better condition than normal. I kept my makeup all very natural apart from a little kohl eyeliner just to grunge up the look a little bit.

In terms of the sizing on the dress, while it's oversized I would definitely say to size up as there is no stretch and the fabric can be a little unforgiving, however in the right size it looks great and I love the tied waist detail to bring you in. There is also a collar which you can add metal tips to or accessorise with a nice necklace, the rolled up sleeves also look really cool and casual.

What do you guys think of my outfit? What trends are you seeing everywhere at the moment? Let me know in the comments below.

Berry Nice

Hey Everyone!

I'm back with everyone's favourite type of post, the classic outfit of the day. This is actually part one of two looks that I'm doing with New Look from the most popular AW14 trends. This post will be featuring the berry trend which has been everywhere, berry lips, berry clothes, berry shoes and as a big fan of purple I am liking it very much. Very much indeed.

The main piece for my OOTD is this gorgeous Inspire purple fine knit lace shoulder 3/4 sleeve top* which is a bargain at under £15.

I have paired it with a little crochet beret from Primark, a skater skirt from Asos Curve and leggings from Sainsburys.

Also featured is my favourite Marisota quilted grab bag and new Evans ankle boots*.

I think this look is perfect for the weekend, it's comfy and casual but still a bit chic. The fine knit also means that you wear a coat on top and not feel all constricted.

I hope this makes a bit of a change from my usual floral prints, I'm trying to branch out my style a bit more lately and have been experimenting with darker makeup looks. You know when you just get stuck in a bit of a style rut? Well sometimes I just worry that most of my outfits look really similar, but hey I still love them all!

What do you guys think of the berry trend, is it something you'll be rocking? Leave me a comment below and tell me, also I'd be intrigued to know what trends are on your radar this A/W.

Stay tuned for part 2, we are going on a highland safari!

Dressed in Mint

Hey Everyone!

It's been a little while since we have had an outfit post, so when I ordered this lovely Simply Be dress I couldn't resist sharing my love for it! The weather is finally starting to even out, over the past few weeks it's been so sunny and hot or on the flipside soaking with rain, neither of which are conditions perfect for blog photos!!

Anyway, here we go!

I found this cool headband I bought from Primark ages ago when I was clearing my room and thought it looked really cute with this look. Where the mint jacquard material is so eye catching I wanted to keep my accessories plain black so they don't take away from the dress.

The dress doesn't have sleeves so I have popped a plain black tshirt underneath just to give me that extra coverage but you could achieve the same with a little bolero or cardigan.

Here are the full outfit details:
Dress: Simplybe Link!
Long sleeve black tshirt: Tesco
Tights: Asos Curve
Shoes: New Look
Headband: Primark

Now i have dressed this look down and worn the dress as a daytime look, to transform it into a night time look I would remove the tshirt underneath and put on a little shrug instead and swap the flats for some nice heels. You could also add a necklace to compliment the v neck detail and a cute clutch bag to keep your bits and bobs in.

What do you guys think of my new dress? I haven't really dabbled in mint too much before so this was something a bit different, it also comes in a really pretty pink though as well which I might need to give a go.

Until next time, thanks for reading! Love Sally X

Ag-a-doo-doo-doo, Push Pineapple, Shake the Tree

Hey Everyone!

So the sun is shining, the lighting is perfect and I have a new dress to show you. The perfect combination for a blog post!

Unless you've been hiding under a rock, you will have seen that neon and brights in general is huge on the high street this summer. Well the lovely folk at New Look kindly sent me a couple of items to share with you all, so this is part 1 with part 2 to come later this week.

Today I am going to be raving about this Inspire Neon Pink Pineapple Bodycon Dress. As you know bodycon is something I don't wear a lot of and have been known to shy away from, but I thought with such an eye catching fun print and lovely neon pink I could pull it off! (Here's where you comment below "oh yeah you totally do").

I ordered one size up, so you can see it's not completely skin tight on me, which I feel much more comfortable in. I also paired it with a plain black cardigan to give me some coverage on my arms and leggings the dress is completely opaque though so I could wear it with tights if I wanted a more party look.

By the way these pictures were taken on a little adventure I had while walking alongside the railway in Potters Bar, I discovered an entrance to a park I wasn't aware of despite living there for years!!

I think this might be some sort of mini golf thing? I couldn't work out what the little wooden posts were for! Maybe one of you can advise?!

I ended up having quite a fun afternoon, shortly after these pictures I carried on walking straight out to an icecream van for a screwball and I saw some friends in the evening and got lots of compliments on my dress.

I hope you liked this post and let me know your thoughts below as always.

OOTD - Park Edition

Hey Everyone!

Yesterday I went for a little afternoon trip to Verulamium Park in St Albans which is one of my favourite places to go to just relax, sit on a bench and read a book. I took along my camera to get some autumn themed pictures and ended up with some impromptu outfit of the day shots I thought I would share, Enjoy!

Coat - New Look Inspire Link to similar!
Cardigan - Primark
Skirt - Primark
Tights - ASOS Curve Link!
Shoes - New Look Link!
Bag - Marisota Link!
Glasses - Armani

I love the delicate pearl detailing on the cardigan, it really adds to the classic/girly look I wanted and makes a cheap Primark cardigan look much higher end.

In this shot you can see my old ombred ends coming through again, I kind of like it.

I liked this shot because you can see the reflection of the trees in each of the quilted diamonds. I fell in love with this bag immediately when I saw it at the Marisota event, it just looks so luxurious and the design is very similar to this Dior bag don't you think?

I hope you enjoyed this post, I had a great time at the park and can't wait to get some more Autumn looks up for you guys.

Outfit of the Day - Bootsaling

Hey Everyone!

So to accompany my haul I thought I would do a cheeky outfit of the day post to show you my bootsaling attire. I was thinking about this the other day and my blog used to be full of outfit posts but lately it's been more beauty or just silence (sorryyyyyy).  So I've decided that I want to pull it back round to plus size fashion which is what I love the most and I think is the most useful for my readers who are predominantly plus size too.

So that said let's get on to the CLOTHES!

I'm wearing a peachy pink dress from New Look which has an elasticated waist and pretty beaded bow detailing.

I've paired the dress with a cute ivory cardigan (unbranded market one) which has little ruffles down the front with a golden trim.

Half of the way through my bootsale adventure the heavens opened and it was hoods up and fast trot back to the car, my New Look parka coat did me proud. I love this coat as it's lightweight enough for the end of summer/ beginning of autumn, has lot's of pockets and can be drawn in at the waist to add a bit of shape but I like to wear it bigger and grungy. I'm also wearing my favourite chelsea boots which are hands down the best £9 I ever spent!

This is me with my sister's fancy new bag which I thought was so nice it deserved a picture mention.

I hope you enjoyed this post and thanks for reading. Love Sally X
