Interior Design Trends for 2016

Hey Everyone!

Hope you're all doing well and having a nice week so far!

Today is going to be a lifestyle themed post and we are going to be talking all about interiors and trends for 2016 inspired by this article. Baytree Interiors have come up with suggestions of things set to be big in the interior world this year and here are some examples!

Lighting

Placing lights strategically around a room is a great way to change up the ambience and it can be really cheap and easy to do. Things like LED lights are catching on in line with a shift towards "mood lighting" and filament bulbs are great for providing a warm glow to give that Instagram perfect, vintage look to a room.

Colour Choices

Changing up the colours of your walls is one of the most quick and effective ways to change up the appearance of your rooms for a low cost. Moving away from the more generic magnolia and whites in 2016 there is more of an embrace of pastels as a subtle hint of colour or as an alternative having an accent wall of a block colour to break up the room and give a focal point.

Furniture

Classic country style furniture is still really on trend with a lean towards colourful pieces as focal points and to mix up the contrasts of a room. Furniture paints are becoming more popular and readily available which also means you can repurpose furniture you already have to save on the cost of buying things completely new. Mixing up different styles of both antique and more modern furniture is something that has been really popular for the past few years and will continue to be in 2016, a great way to be a bit different would be doing something like antique furniture with modern or industrial style fixtures and fittings for a minimalistic look.

I hope you liked this post, let me know which interior trends you are following this year in the comments below!

Hey Guys!

Hope you're all having lovely weeks!

Today I have another impromptu post to share with you talking about a stunning new exclusive collection that's just hit www.feelunique.com!

They teamed up with fashion illustrator Meredith Wing (aka @moomooi) and they have created a beautiful accessories collection. You can read the interview with Meredith over on the Feelunique site here for insight into how the collection was created and more about the work she has done.

Meredith Wing

"This "Beauty in Bloom" inspired collection is a perfect harmony between #SomeFlowerGirls illustrations and the world of beauty. With these Feelunique accessories, I picture chic women the world over bringing a little whimsy into their daily routine!"

The collection includes a pretty phone case (Iphone 5 and 6), roomy makeup bag, soft kabuki brush, lovely tote bag and an adorable travel wallet perfect to house an oyster card or travel pass. I absolutely love every single piece and will be making my purchases later today, the pricing is really reasonable and ranges between £9-£14 so I would say is pretty affordable.

My Saturday Afternoon at Myddleton House and Forty Hall

Hey Everyone!

I hope you all had lovely weekends.

Today I wanted to share a quick post on what I got up to on Saturday as I took lots of pretty pictures and thought you might like to see. If you want to keep up to date on my happenings make sure you are following me on instagram (www.instagram.com/sallywills) as I update it regularly with all my adventures and photos from my phone.

I have blogged in the past and photographed outfit posts at both Forty Hall and Myddleton House back in 2014, but I haven't been there in a good year or so, making it the perfect time to return for a nice afternoon out with my boyfriend.

Outfit:

Gilet - Ralph Lauren
Jumper - Alexa Chung for M&S
Jeans - Topshop Joni style
Shoes - Converse
Bag - Oasis

The grounds are so lovely and perfect for a nice chilled afternoon, by the lake you can watch the koi fish which I've always found very calming.

Then just a couple of minutes drive away is Forty Hall which similarly is a huge historic building with grounds you can explore.

Here we sat by the lake chatting away about anything and everything before heading into the café for a delicious homemade burger.

We did a lot more walking around the grounds and through various fields and routes before heading back home. It was such a nice relaxing afternoon and I'll definitely go back again soon.

What do you guys get up to on your weekends to relax? Let me know down below in the comments.

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed some insight into what I do outside of my blogging schedule.

Summer Going Out Dresses - My Top Picks

Hey Everyone!

I hope you're all having lovely weekends.

With the sun shining and the temperature rising I thought it would be the perfect time to look at some pretty summer going out dresses, I have put together a little roundup of my top picks and you can check them all out on the Quiz Clothing website.

First up is the Cream Flower Print Bardot Dress.

I love the floral print, the colours are so summery and girly with a watercolour like effect. I like the bardot neckline which shows off your collarbones and the tulip skirt with ruching to the side brings you nicely in at the waist. The dress is bodycon so designed for a close fit and would look great with tights or bare legs, flats or heels.

Next is the Cream and Nude Crochet Pearl Skater Dress.

The dress has an intricate white floral crochet design with a nude lining underneath and would look great with a tan this summer. The skater style gives the nice nipped in waist with a flared skirt which is just the right length. I think this dress would be great for day or night as you could dress it down with flats and a little cardigan or up with heels and pretty jewellery.

Then we have the Multicoloured Flower Print Chiffon Dip Hem Dress.

The fabric is a lovely floaty chiffon that will keep you cool in the heat with a gorgeous floral print. The high/low hem is a nice feature and will look great with strappy sandals or heels and bare legs. It is perfect for a wedding or more formal occasion too as it is very simple and elegant and would be very comfortable.

Lastly I picked the Mocha Chiffon V Neck Detachable Cape Maxi Dress.

This dress really ticks a lot of boxes for me, a simple and flattering design, lovely colour that would suit all skintones, a great length for a maxi dress and the intricate detailing on the cape which can be detached is really pretty. I think this dress would be great for an evening meal at a fancy restaurant, show up in the West End, river cruise along the Thames or a wedding, something along those lines.

I hope you liked my picks! Let me know what you thought below in the comments.

Oykos Whip N Mix

Hi Guys!

Happy Thursday!

Today I'm going to be talking about Oykos's new launch of their Whip 'n' Mix yogurt range. I was lucky enough to be sent a lovely hamper of pampering goodies and some yogurts to try out and see what I thought so stay tuned!

Inside my hamper were some at home spa essentials for a pampering session to perfectly set the scene. So with my fluffy dressing gown and slippers on, reed diffuser wafting, body soufflé all nice and moisturising on my skin and lips hydrated, sat in the sun on my patio, I was ready.

First, a little about Whip 'n' Mix, they are described as the perfect harmony between lightly whipped, creamy Greek-Style mousse and rich, scrumptious fruit compote.

I often have greek yogurt as a breakfast option, I do my "overnight oats" which basically soak up the yogurt in the fridge overnight and then you add in berries and take it to work as a quick breakfast, but it's not something I've really thought about having as a dessert.

In terms of healthiness, the yogurt is very protein rich and just 140 calories per 92g pack so makes a nice healthy dessert option after dinner when you find yourself wanting something sweet. The single serving pots also mean easier control as I'm guilty of literally pouring yogurt over stuff with no real idea of how much I've used or the nutrition value.

In the range there are blueberry, strawberry and cherry flavours to choose from and I went for blueberry* as it's my favourite. In terms of taste, I was really surprised at how "naughty" they felt and how yummy they were for a healthy dessert option. They are deliciously creamy and the mousse texture really works nice with the compote when you combine the two and every mouthful is full of fruity flavour, really tasty!

The yogurts are available in supermakets so really accessible and I picked up some more in my local Morrisons on a £1 promotion for a pack of 4, usual price £2.17 so keep an eye out for any deals!

They are also working with the hunk that is Peter Andre, on their Facebook page there is a competition for a chance to meet him so head over if you're a fan!

I hope you liked this post and it gives you a nice healthy dessert option to think about. If you would like to see more food/healthy eating posts like this leave me a comment and I can see what I can do.

My Spa Day Experience at M By Montcalm Shoreditch

Hey Everyone!

Hope you're all well and having a nice week.

Today I'm going to be sharing my experience from my recent trip to the spa at M By Montcalm in Shoreditch.

Location wise it is really easy to find, it's a stones throw from Old Street tube station and my office is literally a 5 minute walk so it was really convenient to be able to go after work as it is open in the evenings. I went along with my long suffering colleague and friend, Rachel from www.ageordielostinlondon.co.uk, and we both remarked on how swish it looked both inside and out.

When we arrived we took the lift to the bottom floor where the spa is located and were greeted by a friendly receptionist who gave us questionnaires to fill in before handing us our robes and slippers before being shown where the changing rooms and facilities are.

The facilities include:

A gorgeous swimming pool

Loungers to relax and read magazines or pop your towels and robes on

A Jacuzzi where you can adjust the bubble settings

A choice of dry or wet sauna rooms and also rain shower cubicles

Then finally, treatment rooms where I had a lovely 30 minute back, neck and shoulder massage. The therapist was so good and had the pressure just right, checking along the way and the whole experience was incredibly relaxing with background music and aromas from the oils.

The whole experience was really luxurious, the spa itself is absolutely stunning and I wouldn't hesitate to visit again. I'm already looking at dates for when I can go back and checking what the different treatments are so I can try something new!

If you would like to check out the spa yourself head on over to http://www.mbymontcalm.co.uk/ where you can see more pictures, all the facilities information and prices based on dates/treatments etc.

I hope you liked this post and pop me a comment below if you would like to see more of my London outings.

Healthy Dog Food Challenge

Hi Guys!

Today I want to tell you about the Healthy Dog Food Challenge I have been recently participating in over the last month. It is with  a company called Vet's Kitchen a brand of all-natural pet food you may have seen some of my posts on social media about them. You can check them out here: http://www.vetknowhow.co.uk/vetskitchen/

Vet's Kitchens' foods are hypoallergenic and free from wheat, beef, maize and soya-thought to be some of the top causes of allergies in pets. They have no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.I was sent a month supply of dog food for my four French Bulldogs in two great flavours, Salmon & Potato and Chicken & Brown Rice. You can see Miley was very curious to try the food out and I was intrigued to find out more details of the nutritional benefits of each pack.

Salmon is a protein rich source of healthy energy full of Omega 3, which promotes healthy skin and a shiny coat
Sweet Potato is a grain-free source of carbohydrate full of antioxidants great for those with sensitive digestion
Chicken is a source of high-quality protein that is also highly-digestible
Brown Rice provides a great source of dietary fibre with a very low glycaemic index to keep blood sugar levels steady and help metabolise fat more efficiently.

A
fter a month, I can report the below about how my dogs change in diet impacted them:Digestion - 5 paw rating, they happily ate the food straight away and had no issues.
Coat quality - 5 paw rating, their coats felt smooth and glossy after eating this food for a month.
Skin Condition - 5 paw rating
General temperament - 5 paw rating, they have seemed pretty calm.

Looksgreat

Hey Everyone!

I hope you're all having a fabulous weekend, the weather has been incredible!

Today I wanted to share a website I've been really liking lately and it's something I think that anyone who enjoys fashion and particularly bloggers would be interested in taking a look at, the website is called www.looksgreat.co.uk.

The main idea behind the website is that you can search through the website for fashion items and then you can pin them to interactive style boards which you can then share with your friends or followers on your social media channels and there is the option to add your own images in as well.

As a blogger this is so perfect for things like wishlist blog posts and you can just search in the top bar for brands you like or you can look at the "New Designers" section for inspiration and to see brands you might not have heard of before. You can then add items either to a shopping list to purchase or pin them to your style board for a really nice put together graphic that you can share.

I also really like that when you log on there are trend led features you can click into, this weeks hottest are Prairie Blouses which gives you a beautiful selection of both designer and high street items and from there you can pretty much create a blog feature around it by quickly building a board, adding in your own comments and pictures as well and then sharing it on your own blog or social media.

I really like the website, I can see myself using it as I get myself back into more regular fashion posts and can see it being a real time saver for putting together cute looks to share with you guys instead of posting each picture of each item individually and having to manually search each website for images which are often lower resolution if you copy and paste or save from google with sizing often an issue.

I hope you found this post useful, I really thought it was something worthy of a shoutout. If you want to check it out head over to www.looksgreat.co.uk and create a profile (which you can do in seconds) and then you are good to go and have a play around!

 Thanks for reading.
