The Tale of Jack O'Lantern

Hey Guys!

Happy Halloween!!!! I hope you've all had a fun packed evening.

Today is the last (and my favourite) halloween themed outfit featuring this awesome pumpkin dress from Boohoo Plus.

I'm pleased to report the sizing on this one was perfect and the arms were nice and tight so no complaints from me!

It's really stretchy as it's jersey but more true to size than the skeleton dress, I ordered my usual size and I think the fit is perfect, I think it's got just the right amount of cling.

I'm so pleased with how this week has gone, 5 outfits in 5 days has to be a record on here and everyone has given me great feedback. I want to start focusing back onto outfit posts, from the comments I've been getting it seems like they are the overall favourite type of post (mine too).

Anyway guys, I hope you have had a great Halloween and I'll see you tomorrow with an exciting new giveaway.

Thanks for reading! Love Sally X

Skeletons in the Closet

Hey Everyone!

Just one day to go until Halloween is here and this mini series concludes (sob).

Today features this lovely skeleton dress from Boohoo which as you have probably guessed is sold out and no longer on the site to link. There are some similar ones on Ebay though so check that out if you're looking for a discounted version.

The sizing is a bit strange, it's really baggy on the arms but fits about normal everywhere else. I had to gather the sleeves together at the wrist to try and get a tighter look but I've never had this issue before, maybe the pattern the dress was cut from is off proportion wise. I would say sizing down is probably a good idea.

The dress itself is pretty nice, the pattern is cool, it's long sleeved and also a good length so it's all good on that front.

All in all I'm relatively happy with my purchase, aside from the arms issue, and I will be featuring another look from Boohoo tomorrow which is my favourite of the series.

See you tomorrow and stay spooky!

Say Boo and Scary On

Hey Guys!

Today is the next Halloween themed outfit of the day and centers around this spooky ghost dress from Asos Curve. I'm sorry to say that this has also sold out, not sure what's going on with the stock numbers at Asos this halloween! Everything in the collection seems to have sold out crazily quick which is a shame because they are probably the most exciting pieces I've seen all year.

I have styled the dress with my trusty leggings from Sainsburys which I swear by, they are a thick modal fabric and so cosy and warm. I also have on my Evans ankle boots* which I have been wearing pretty much non stop since they arrived.

What can I say about this dress? The print is awesome with loads of little ghosties, the skater style and stretch fabric is super comfy and flattering, the sleeves give good coverage and the length is pretty perfect. I don't have a bad thing to say about the actual product, the only downside is that it has sold out so quickly!

How cute is this mini Frankenweenie? I made a cheeky purchase in the Disney store after watching the film in my latest Netflix marathon.

Now I'm off to watch Hocus Pocus for the millionth time! Leave me a comment telling me your favourite Halloween films.

See you tomorrow and thanks for reading!

Monsters Incorporated

Hey Everyone!

Today is the second installment in my Halloween outfit series and features this super cute Cropped T-Shirt with Monster Print from Asos Curve.

I have paired it with a skater skirt also from Asos curve, leggings from Sainsburys and ankle boots* from Evans which are quickly becoming my go to shoes. Todays outfit is my take on a really simple, super comfortable halloween look you can wear day or night and I'd wear this tshirt all year round!

I chose to size up, but could probably have got my usual size and the length wasn't as cropped as I thought it was going to be. It's much less daunting if you are wearing it with jeans for example and only want to show a little bit of skin.

The sleeves are also the perfect length, stopping midway to the elbow so providing that extra bit of coverage.

What do you guys think? A cool casual look or something monst(e)rous?

Thanks for reading and I'll see you tomorrow for another outfit!

Here Comes Halloween

Hey Everyone!

For those of you that didn't see my tweet, this week I am excited to say that I will be doing 5 halloween themed outfits of the day posts as we begin the countdown to the event on Friday. Halloween is my second favourite time of the year (after xmas obviously) and there are some awesome Halloween themed clothes around, so I figured I'd show you guys a few bits I picked up.

Today's outfit of the day features these super cool leggings from Asos Curve which are unfortunately already sold out, but I hear on the grapevine that Primark have done an equivalent so pop into a store if you can for a look. These ones are super stretchy and comfortable so if you do manage to get your hands on a pair I would recommend you size down.

Speaking of Primark, my studded clutch, shoe boots and vest top are all from my last visit and the cardigan is from Yours Clothing. I love the way that the cardigan sits perfectly on the hips to show off the pelvic bones on the leggings.

Make up wise I gothed up a little with pale foundation, a smoky eye and berry red lips for a vampy sort of look. I think it goes pretty well with the outfit, but possibly not an everyday look for me.

What do you guys think of my outfit? What will you be wearing this halloween? Let me know in the comments below!

Thanks so much for reading and stay tuned for the next installment tomorrow!

Berry Nice

Hey Everyone!

I'm back with everyone's favourite type of post, the classic outfit of the day. This is actually part one of two looks that I'm doing with New Look from the most popular AW14 trends. This post will be featuring the berry trend which has been everywhere, berry lips, berry clothes, berry shoes and as a big fan of purple I am liking it very much. Very much indeed.

The main piece for my OOTD is this gorgeous Inspire purple fine knit lace shoulder 3/4 sleeve top* which is a bargain at under £15.

I have paired it with a little crochet beret from Primark, a skater skirt from Asos Curve and leggings from Sainsburys.

Also featured is my favourite Marisota quilted grab bag and new Evans ankle boots*.

I think this look is perfect for the weekend, it's comfy and casual but still a bit chic. The fine knit also means that you wear a coat on top and not feel all constricted.

I hope this makes a bit of a change from my usual floral prints, I'm trying to branch out my style a bit more lately and have been experimenting with darker makeup looks. You know when you just get stuck in a bit of a style rut? Well sometimes I just worry that most of my outfits look really similar, but hey I still love them all!

What do you guys think of the berry trend, is it something you'll be rocking? Leave me a comment below and tell me, also I'd be intrigued to know what trends are on your radar this A/W.

Stay tuned for part 2, we are going on a highland safari!

Dark Skies

Hey Everyone!

I hope you all had a nice weekend, it was a bit wet and miserable wasn't it?! Well luckily this doesn't stop me doing a beauty review from the comfort of my bedroom and today it's a really positive one!

A little while ago I got speaking to the lovely Becky from In The Buff Makeup and I was lucky enough to be sent one of their eyeshadows to have a try for myself. All of the products on the site are 100% pure mineral, 100% natural and vegan friendly and you can choose from brushes, eyeshadows, foundations, blushers and bronzers. So quite a big selection!

The eyeshadow shade that I chose is called Dark Skies and it is from the sparkle range, here is what I thought!

First of all the packaging is really cute, the eyeshadow pot comes in this little cardboard box with a white satin bow.

You get 1g of product for £13.50 and the little pot has a sifter to make sure you don't waste any. The powder is so pigmented you really don't need to use a lot at all.

Here are my swatches, done dry with 1 dip in the pot (you can also apply it wet).

I've tried to capture the swatches in different lights to give an idea of the dimension, the pigment is a dark black with the most gorgeous gold glitter running through it. The product is finely milled and the glitter isn't at all chunky meaning I had very little fallout in application. For optimum results you can apply over an eyeshadow base, I'd recommend Mac's shadestick in Sharkskin, or also wet using a damp brush and pressing it on your eyelid.

I have to say that I'm loving this product so much so far and have applied it in 3 different ways when I was experimenting around. Firstly I used it as an all over main colour for a smoky eye, secondly as a crease colour with an antique gold as the main shadow and thirdly I applied it with an angled brush on top of plain black kohl eyeliner to make it last longer and add a bit of sparkle and I blended it out a bit for a grungey look. Let me know if you would like to see pictures of each look in a follow up post!

If you would like to check out the range then head over to www.inthebuffmakeup.co.uk for a browse and let me know what you think/your favourite shades in the comments below.
