Welcome Back Adele

Hello. It's me.

Today's post is coming to you off the back of the recent launch of the new Adele album, good isn't it?! I thought it would be a great time to talk about the lady herself, a lot of the themes within her songs and just her as a person really strike a chord with me and to say I'm a fan is the biggest understatement of the century so let's get into it!

Last night I was at a comedy show, it was fantastic and I'll do a post on that separately but the comedian was talking about ex boyfriends and how it can be really hard to get over a breakup and there was a really poignant part where she spoke of how Adele's song Someone Like You was the song that changed how she felt and was the turning point for her being able to move on. The song started blaring out and every single girl in the audience sang along as we all remembered a past relationship and related to that song and it was the most beautiful thing.

Her songs are just always spot on, I can relate to Make you feel my love, trying so hard for someone that isn't giving you back as much. Set Fire to the Rain, being lied to and messed about and Rolling in the Deep, someone playing games with you. But the songs are uplifting and empowering, in interviews you can see that she is such a strong, awesome person and when I play her songs in my car and sing along really badly/loudly I feel like that too.

Another reason I love Adele is her body positivity, she could literally care less for how the industry would like her to look in terms of her body shape or weight and she rocks amazing clothes, she looks incredible. I love that with her, her talent for singing is just so immense that everything else pales in comparison and for once a female artist's press isn't constantly about how they look, who they are dating or what diet they are on. Being natural charismatic, she comes across as just a really lovely down to earth person but at the same time absolutely smashes it on the red carpet with stunning dresses that all curvy ladies should feel confident enough to wear.

Jd Williams have created a cool blog post entitled An Album of Adele's Style which I would recommend checking out if any of you ladies would like to see awesome Adele style dresses that will make you feel a million dollars and could give you a last minute piece of inspiration for the christmas parties coming up! I have my outfit all picked out and will be sharing on social media next Thursday some live action for you, so exciting!

Anyway, I hope you liked this post, I could talk about Adele all day so if you would like to see any follow up let me know in the comments.

Oh Kimono

Hi Everyone!

I hope you're all having a fabulous weekend.

Today I'm bringing you an outfit of the day post with what I wore/am wearing as speak this lazy Sunday afternoon.

I've kept my outfit really casual with thick leggings, a plain black long sleeved top and this gorgeous floral print kimono from M&Co*. The kimono is the latest addition to my wardrobe and goes with everything, you can pop it on over something plain to jazz it up like I have done today or wear it with a dress or even as a little beach cover up. It's a nice stretchy jersey so is light for the summer and the sleeves offer the perfect amount of coverage, falling around elbow length.

Now on to the pictures!

I hope you liked the pictures! If you would like to see more outfit of the day posts, drop me a comment below, I'd love to hear what you thought of my new kimono.

Thanks for reading and speak soon!

Stop By And Smell The Flowers

Hey Guys!

Today I am going to share an outfit of the day, revisiting my ever growing love of floral prints. I feel like it's been a little while since we've done this, so I have a few more outfits planned for the next month to show you all. Woo!

This lovely dress is from Asos Curve but an old collection so unfortunately no longer available however keep your eyes peeled on Ebay because it's a beauty.

I love the flattering black panels which make your middle smaller like some sort of optical illusion. Very sneaky!

I'm also wearing one of my favourite hair bands I picked up at a car boot sale for a tiny one pound! Cute isn't it?

I hope you liked this outfit, let me know your thoughts below and I look forward to speaking to you in my next post.

Cut for Evans 2

Hey Guys,

Today I am bringing you the eagerly anticipated pictures of yours truly in the gorgeous Cut for Evans purple digital print bomber jacket*. For me this was absolutely the stand out piece of a strong collection designed by Eve Turley and Ellie Northway in association with Evans and I liked this collection just as much as it's earlier counterpart which I wrote about last year.

The print on the jacket is in a word AMAZING, I love digital prints in general but the combinations of purples, lilacs and white just looked so pretty and girly but ultra trendy at the same time.

I would say the jacket is true to size and not too tight on the arms (as coats can often be on me) which was a plus point, it also is just the right length and sits on the top of my hips.

It might not provide much warmth in the current blizzardy conditions, but I can promise you that you will look cool as hell wearing it!

I hope you liked my little review, if you did please feel free to leave your thoughts below as your comments really do mean a lot. Also check out the Evans website for the jacket which is currently on sale: www.evans.co.uk /link, they have some little gems on there at the moment so definitely worth a cheeky browse on your lunch break.

Until next time, thanks for reading! Love Sally X

Simply Be Party Shoes

Hey Guys!

I hope you're all having a fab weekend.

Today I'm going to be talking about one of my favourite topics, shoes, in collaboration with the Simply Be party shoes campaign. Simply Be have kindly gone and created a Party Shoes Guide to help us all pick some great party shoes and keep us as pain free and comfortable as possible in the process, so pop on over to the site to see the full guide which has some really helpful advice.

Speaking from my own experience I have a very love/hate relationship with heels, I have so many memories of being around 18-20 and coming back from nights out in so much agony and just throwing off my shoes and promising myself to "never wear heels again" and that "the pain is just not worth it". I think I can attribute this to a few key factors:

First of all my inability to wear the correct size. When I was that age I just wasn't into internet shopping and would get all my clothes and shoes from the shops near me that would only ever stock up to a size 8, I was an 8 and a half so really needed to be wearing a 9 to be comfortable, especially as your feet can swell in heels during the night so an extra half size can really matter. The width fitting was also never right as I needed an "E"/ wide fitting but was wearing just the standard quite narrow fitting which I can hold responsible for a lot of rubbing and discomfort at the sides.

Secondly, I can admit now that a lot of the styles I used to pick out were completely impractical. A couple of years ago my doctor confirmed that I have a medical condition that affects my balance and is responsible for feeling quite dizzy and uneasy on my feet, so realistically the skyscraper heels that I used to wear just weren't practical, hence me falling over or twisting my ankle on a regular basis.

Nowadays I'm way more savvy when shoe shopping.

Below I've gone for these beauties with a mid height heel with a nice chunky platform, platforms are amazing as they give you the height but without the exaggerated arch in your foot. These are in a size 9 and wide fit, Simply Be offer both an E/wide and EEE/extra wide fitting which I think is excellent.

I've popped on a pair of socks to help "wear in" the shoes and also I wont get any rubbing at the back of the heel, another good way to stop this is by using gel cushions which are great if you're wearing tight or going bare legged.

I also really like the chunky ankle strap on these to stop my feet moving around which is also something that can cause rubbing from the friction. I wore these shoes out on New Years and didn't have any issues at all and I was wearing them for a good few hours out and about with my friends so definitely a pair I can recommend (they also come in black fyi)

So tell me, what do you guys think about high heels, do you love them or hate them? Also do you have any more tips to share that weren't in the Simply Be guide, if so pop them below in the comments.

Cosy Winter Knits with Fashion World

Hey Guys!

Today is going to be an outfit post, as you know these are my absolute favourite types of post to do and I have something brand spanking new to show you that I was sent from Fashion World!

I was contacted by the lovely team and offered a pick from their knitwear range for something nice and cosy for this winter. I had actually been eyeing up the item I chose for sometime now so it was an easy choice to go for the wonder that is the Angel Ribbons Kierra Metallic Yarn Intarisa Waterfall Front Cardigan*.

Isn't it pretty?!?!

Now I must tell you that I did choose to size up and was so glad I did as I would say it does run small so would definitely recommend doing this if you're unsure.

Here is how it looks on!

I chose to wear it over a simple black tshirt and leggings for a really laid back weekend look. I can testify that it offers a good amount of warmth and the knit is so soft and cosy.

I love the waterfall design at the front with the tassels and the overall design which has an aztec feel to it which I like especially with the metallic twist.

and you could even wrap it across the front and secure with a brooch to give another option.

Also, I don't know if you lot have seen but Fashion World have a xmas themed app where you upload a photo of yourself and can create your picture of you in a novelty xmas jumper to send to your friends or put on social media. Here is the link if you want to check it out! Merry Knit-mas

I hope you liked this post, let me know what you think of this cardigan below in the comments.

Keep Calm, It's Boot Season

Hey Guys,

I hope you're all well and having a lovely weekend. Today is a long overdue post on my new boots I was sent to review from JD Williams (http://jdwilliams.co.uk/).

Among the many things I love about autumn fashion (layering, thick opaque tights, fluffy cardigans to name a few), I always love to dig out a good pair of boots to wear now that my flat dolly shoes just aren't cutting it, who wants chilly toes after all.

JD Williams are a regular haunt for me for shoes, mainly because they do wide fit, stock size 9's and in funky styles. There are so many to choose from, at the moment there are 777 styles in their boots section over all, 79 of which are new in which I think is pretty impressive and they cover everything from wellies, ankle boots, knee highs, mid length and shoe boots.

The shoes I will be sharing today are the Catwalk Collection Buckle Biker Boots*.

They are a gorgeous soft black leather with buckle detailing, an exposed gold outer zip and metal hardware to the heel, perfect to wear with a cute dress and leggings/tights or jeans.

I paired my boots for this outfit post with a plain black duster jacket and my trusting grey marl skater dress over leggings which is a typical work or evening outfit for me.

They are really comfy and I love that I can wear a woolly pair of socks with them because I have the extra room from the wide fitting meaning i'm all nice and toasty and I'll get loads of wear from them all through winter.

What do you guys think of my new boots? Let me know in the comments below and I hope you enjoyed my outfit post, more to come soon!

Elomi Bijou Soiree Unwrapping and Review

Hey Everyone!

Hope you're all having a good week! The run up to xmas is officially here and I am so excited to say the least. I have some great gift ideas coming up and the set I'm sharing in this post could be something to add to your xmas list or buy as a treat for yourself.

Today I am going to be sharing an unwrapping and "brief" review of the gorgeous Elomi Bijou Soiree set* which I was kindly sent by the lovely team at Eveden to try out.

The set arrived in the post in this luxe black bag

and wrapped in cute heart print tissue paper

I asked for the set in my usual size and I think the fit was spot on, they have from a 34F to a 44G available which I think is a pretty good selection as at my size I generally find it quite hard to shop for good fitting bras.

I like that the straps are wide enough that they don't dig in at all and the thick band at the back prevents any spillage for a smoother look, you also have the option to make the straps into a racer back look if you want to. The nude base with lace overlay is also really classy and has a luxury feel to it and quite frankly looks amazing on! The overall shape it gives your chest is just perfect as it separates you at the core and lifts you up with lot's of support which is more flattering for your tummy as well.

The matching shorts also didn't disappoint, the front fabric has cute mesh panels to the side and is backed with a lovely stretchy silky fabric which gives you that feeling of comfort but still looks really sexy.

The set together are a total winner for me, this is actually the first time I've tried Elomi but I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from them in the future now I know that the sizing is spot on, the quality is great and I can order them off the internet as well for convenience.

I have already picked out a couple of bits to add to my xmas list!

The Betty set

and the Lexi set

Both of these look so cute and I need them in my life! Have you guys tried any of the Elomi sets? What ones do you recommend? Tell me below!

NineX Lingerie Review

Hey Guys,

Hope you're all well.

The weather today is pretty wet so I'm holed up inside but it's the perfect opportunity to do some blogging! I have a nice warm mug of hot chocolate, a bit of Buble in the background and fluffy socks on, so I'm ready to go!

Today I am going to share with you a long overdue review of a gorgeous item I received from NineX Lingerie, the Isla Hot Pink Satin and Lace Babydoll*. I'm a big fan of babydolls as they have the extra coverage over the tummy which makes me feel alot more confident but it doesn't attract from the overall sexiness and glamour you want to achieve.

First of all the colour is so pretty, it's a lovely hot pink which looks great on and the black lace accent goes well with my dark hair. The babydoll is also available in silver, red, purple, black and blue so there is plenty to choose from if you're not a pink lover like me!

The straps are elasticated and totally comfortable to wear and are adjustable the same way a bra strap can tighten or loosen. There is also nice ruching under the bust and the hem has a wavy effect at the bottom which adds another cute touch.

The length is pretty good, it just skims the tops of your legs so provides just the right amount of coverage without being more of a nightdress. The sizing I would also say is about spot on, but bear in mind that satin doesn't have much stretch to it so I would say possibly consider sizing up if you want a more floaty look.

Overall I am pleased with the babydoll, I think it's cute and something I would totally wear. It's only £14.49 which is a total bargain and the whole range is really nice and well priced considering the quality is good and the range of designs is expansive. The sizing is perfect for plus size ladies too, from what I can see they cater up to a size 30 and for the more stretchy items I think possibly larger sizes could give them a try.

You can check out the full range over on http://www.ninexlingerie.com/, there are some really nice bits in the new arrivals so I'd check them out too.

Have you guys ever shopped at NineX Lingerie? Where do you usually get your babydolls and chemises from? Let me know below!

As always, thanks for reading and I'll speak to you again soon! Love Sally X

A Highland Fling

Hey Everyone! I hope you're all having a fabulous weekend.

Today I am back with another outfit of the day, it's a mix of two of my favourite trends this autumn/winter being the military khaki shirt dress and the ever popular tartan scarf. These aren't two trends I would typically put together but I think it works really well and the scarf worn as an accent to the dress makes it nice and snug.

Scarf: Primark
Black Vest Top: Primark
Leggings: TU at Sainsburys
Boots: Primark
Clutch: Primark

I have to say I love how my hair looks at the moment, it's got crazily long and I've been using all the fancy hair products I've been reviewing so it's in better condition than normal. I kept my makeup all very natural apart from a little kohl eyeliner just to grunge up the look a little bit.

In terms of the sizing on the dress, while it's oversized I would definitely say to size up as there is no stretch and the fabric can be a little unforgiving, however in the right size it looks great and I love the tied waist detail to bring you in. There is also a collar which you can add metal tips to or accessorise with a nice necklace, the rolled up sleeves also look really cool and casual.

What do you guys think of my outfit? What trends are you seeing everywhere at the moment? Let me know in the comments below.
