Soup Glorious Soup

Hi Everyone!

I hope you're all having a nice week so far, I feel like time is literally whizzing past at the moment and I'm not sure how I feel about it! It's getting ever closer to my birthday as well which is always a week or so of me dwelling on how old I'm getting and looking back on what I've done for the past year.

But let's focus on right now, today I have a review for you of the Skinnylicious soups* from Glorious! and I'm excited to tell you all about my experience with them.

I was kindly sent 5 coupons to redeem in store as the soups are freshly chilled and sold in the normal supermarkets such as Waitrose, Sainsburys and Morrisons etc. The full breakdown of stockists for each flavour can be found here.

The varieties I chose are the Goa Express and Timeless Tuscany but there are eight varieties in total consisting of:

Goa Express - tomato and lentil
More Bangalore - toor daal and chickpea
New England in Autumn - butternut squash
Persian Hug - roast tomato
San Antonio Fiesta - chilli sin carne
Singapore Fling - crushed tomato and coconut
Sun-kissed in Sicily - pomodoro tomato and balsamic

Firstly I am going to talk about Goa Express which is a thick tomato and lentil soup warmed by cumin, chilli and paprika then cooled with low fat yoghurt.

It is only 1.3% fat and 150 calories for half a pot which is pretty good considering that is what I've been having for lunch lately and is replacing my usual sandwich. What I love about having soup for lunch is that the warmth really helps me feel full after eating it and they are full of flavour so a really tasty alternative.

Overall the Goa Express is gorgeously thick and spicy and tastes incredible with a nice crusty baguette to dip in, I really enjoyed it and wouldn't hesitate to repurchase once my back up pots run out.

Next there is Timeless Tuscany which is a chicken and orzo soup bursting with tomatoes and a beautiful balance of veggies such as courgette, potato, carrot and spinach.

For half a pot you are looking at 120 calories so even less that then Goa Express and it's so filling and literally perfect for lunch in the office. I prepare it in the morning and then pop it into my Thermos flask which I reviewed here and it's all hot and delicious when I have it around midday.

The taste is a very classic Italian style and the flavours of the tomato and vegetables really blend well and mixed with the chicken it makes for a very filling meal, if you want to add a little extra spice I would highly recommend a dash of cayenne pepper which really sets it alight.

I really enjoyed testing these soups and I think I've found a new lunchtime staple, it's so convenient for when I'm having a working/blogging lunch and I can just stay at my desk and get loads done. The flavours I've tried so far were both delicious and I'm keen to try out more, especially the San Antonio Fiesta which is the chilli one.

If you would like to check out the full range you can do so on the Glorious! website or alternatively just pop into your nearest supermarket to have a look at the pots in person.

I hope you liked this post, let me know if you like food reviews and healthier options and I will try my best to do more for you.

Thanks for reading!
